IN HIS BOOK STORY OF PAKISTAN ARMY PUBLISHED IN 1960S MAJOR GENERAL FAZAL MUQEEM KHAN MADE A TOTALLY FALSE CLAIM THAT THERE WAS NEVER AN ALL MUSLIM UNIT IN BRITISH INDIAN ARMY-THIS FALSE CLAIM WAS REPEATED BY STEPHEN COHEN IN HIS BOOK-WHAT FAZAL MUQEEM WAS TRYING TO CONVEY WAS THAT MUSLIMS WERE VERY ANTI BRITISH-WHEREAS HISTORICAL FACTS ARE TOTALLY OPPOSITE THIS FALLACIOUS CLAIM- AS A MATTER OF FACT IT WERE THE SIKHS WHO WERE NOT TRUSTED BY THE BRITISH AFTER THE FIRST WORLD WAR AND SIKH PERCENTAGE SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCED FROM FIGHTING ARMS-THUS THERE WERE 222 SIKH COMPANIES OF INFANTRY IN 1914 AS COMPARED TO 126 PUNJABI MUSLIM COMPANIES-WHEREAS IN 1922 AS A POLICY SIKH PERCENTAGE WAS REDUCED AS SIKHS SHOWED POLITICAL ANTI BRITISH ACTIVISM IN WW ONE-THUS IN 1927 THERE WERE ONLY 68 SIKH INFANTRY COMPANIES AND 109 PUNJABI MUSLIM COMPANIES- FURTHER ALL SIKH UNITS LIKE 45 SIKHS ETC WERE MIXED WITH PUNJABI MUSLIMS- HISTORY IS FULL OF MYTHS WHICH ARE SUBSEQUENTLY BELIEVED LIKE THE GOSPEL TRUTH- SIMILARY PATHANS WERE REDUCED AFTER WW ONE-
