IN this second engagement took an officer from HM 1/60 Carabineers Ensign William Henry Napier was severely wounded (later died of wounds) and his leg was amputated later.
He was son of a major general of the British company , Johnstone Napier of the Madras Army.[1]

[1]When I researched I could not locate his father in the 1826 list of Madras Army but there was an entry in “Bengal and Agra Annual Guide and Gazetteer” of 1832 mentioning Brigadier Johnston Napier as commandant of Vellore Fort in 1842. During more research it was discovered that Johnston Napier had also served in the Hyderabad Contingent.
